At Chesterton we believe that students will only make progress if they receive high quality feedback from their teachers.
Students have feedback books in which they do an assessment or assessments (depending on the number of lessons allocated to the subject) every half-term. This work is marked in detail by the teacher and the student is given a feedback task, to extend their learning.
This is our only formal marking, as we believe in the importance of a quality response as opposed to more frequent but superficial marking.
The feedback books are kept in school and are out on display in classrooms. Parents can see the assessment tasks via use of the Seesaw app, whereby students take a photo of their assessment, the feedback and the feedback task.
