Year 7 Catch up Funding

We identify students in year 7 as needing to ‘catch up’ if they arrive at the school Either: not at expected level (KS2) in reading, writing, grammar or mathematics Or: not at least Potential grade 5 (CATs) for students without a KS2 score. During the 2015-2016 academic year the school received £14000. Which was spent on:

  • learning mentor time;
  • lexia programme;
  • PSW time in English and Maths;
  • small class sizes
  • cost of CAT tests

The school is expecting to receive the same level of funding in the 2016-2017 academic year and so we are continuing with this programme throughout this year. And the impact will be monitored by expecting these students to be graded working at least Chesterton grade 5 in English and/or Maths

  • 20% end of year 7
  • 40% end of year 8
